Menai Adventure

Departing from St George’s Pier in Menai Bridge, your skipper will be your fun guide as you travel beneath the impressive Menai suspension bridge, into the world famous Swellies. Rest assured you will be in safe hands, as your Skipper skilfully navigates through the channel. The Swellies is rich in history, and you’ll be kept entertained with tales of shipwrecks, fish traps and lions!

After reaching Britannia Bridge and saluting Nelson, you’ll turn around for a second spin through this amazing stretch of water before travelling up the Menai Strait to Beaumaris. Along the way you’ll pass the spectacular houses of Menai Bridge, known locally as Millionaire’s Row, many of which have their own fascinating and sometimes chequered history.

Then it’s a flyby of Garth Pier, the second longest in Wales and onto The Gazelle, a waterfront pub where people once gathered to wait for the ferry to take them from Anglesey to the mainland. The ferry is long gone, but the slipway remains. Onwards from The Gazelle discover the gruesome history of Gallows Point before the colourful and cheery houses of the seaside town of Beaumaris come into view. As the Menai Strait opens out enjoy stunning views of the Eryri mountain range (weather permitting!).

Beaumaris has a strong sailing tradition and if you are taking the tour on a race day, enjoy the spectacle of the racing from the water. If not, enjoy seeing the boats bobbing about on their moorings, with the world heritage listed Beaumaris Castle in the background.

Then it is time for the return trip back to St George’s Pier. Hold on tight and enjoy some twists and turns as your Skipper opens the throttle and you finish your trip with a flourish!

Your safety and enjoyment are our top priority, and we reserve the right to amend any tour at short notice in response to real time sea state and weather conditions. In this case your skipper has complete discretion to run a safe and enjoyable alternative RIB tour, based on the duration of the tour booked.

Prior to boarding, you will be kitted out with life jackets and given a short safety briefing.

Please ensure you check-in in plenty of time and arrive promptly at the Pier. RIBS must depart on time.

No refunds are offered for no shows, latecomers or tours we cannot complete as advertised.

Our RIBS take a maximum of 11 passengers.

We love our furry friends but unfortunately, we cannot take dogs onboard for safety reasons.

All tours are round trips and you will stay onboard for the duration of the trip. Please make sure you have used the RibRide facilities prior to joining us.

Our RIBs are open to the elements and we go out in most weathers including the rain, so please dress appropriately for the weather and season. It is always cooler on the water.

The aim is not to get you wet, however we cannot guarantee this, so please make sure you have a waterproof layer, as it can get a bit splashy in certain conditions. Sensible shoes, no heels! In the colder months, hats and gloves are essential. Sunglasses are also a good idea.

Life jackets are mandatory and are provided by RibRide.

If you are pregnant we generally advise against participating, as tours can be a bit bumpy in certain conditions. If you do want to go out, we would ask that you consult with your doctor or midwife beforehand and consider booking this as a private event so we can tailor the trip to better suit your situation and the weather conditions on the day.
